Mounted combat skill idea.

edited September 29 in General Discussion
Has anyone considered making mounted combat skill a risk vs reward situation? For example at 0 skill LARGE Debuffs for attacking mounted for Melee, Ranged, And Casting ( damage, accuracy, and fizzle chance, with an escalating chance to become dismounted (with damage and a stun) the longer your in active combat mounted or any time you make an action mounted. At 100 skill maybe a speed increase and 75% debuff reduction. So even at max skill risk of being dismounted (you are on a horse)You get your speed but a risk to fighting/casting mounted. Thoughts?

  • Mounted combat used to be a thing in CB2, only way then to get dismounted was simply a bleed or the lance's "Dismount" ability(among other ways). I believe the Vogue had dismount as an ability. All of which made mages the best/most overpowered kite build(s) in-game. They couldn't figure out how to mitigate the combat advantages it gave specific builds so they leaned towards Albion's mounted combat system which, to say the least was horrible.
  • It's almost as if devs are out of Ideas.
  • Be a shame to lose it entirely. So the solution would be to severely reduce kiting while mounted then?

That's the part that, as players, we find easy due to playing the game days on end. The devs on the other hand... This was a problem in the early stages of this game, years ago. as you can see, here we are now lol

Quick shot worked as well with archery.
